Town Meeting Rep. Clifford Snuffer has announced his candidacy for selectman in the June election. Here's his statement:

"The Town of Walpole faces a number of rather serious “quality of life” issues over the next several years.

"Certainly one of the most egregious is the potential siting of a 580-megawatt power plant in our town.

"Having spent over 30 years actively involved in helping Walpole become a better place to live and work, it is apparent to me that the most effective way to offer my business acumen, knowledge of the inner workings of Town Hall and pro-active citizen vigilance to the process, is from within our Town Government structure.

Far from a one-issue candidate, I am announcing my candidacy for a seat on the Walpole Board of Selectmen.

"Over the coming weeks I will be developing my committee, sharing my thoughts, discussing Town wide priorities as well as offering germane opinions.

"I respectfully request your support. Please provide me with your valued vote on June 7th…together we can allow Walpole to realize her full potential."
